Why this stream is growing fast
EV packs, UPS, and consumer electronics have expanded battery volumes. CPCB expects producers to fund collection and recycling rather than leaving packs in informal scrap.
Registration and data
Register on the battery EPR portal. Report by battery type and chemistry as the forms require. Keep import BoE and domestic production aligned with GST.
Certificates
Only recyclers registered for battery EPR can generate valid certificates. Chemistry and type must match your obligation. A plastic or e-waste certificate cannot close a battery target.
EV and warranty returns
OEM take-back, dealer collection, and recycler offtake should be in one data model so returns and certificates reconcile.
